Log into mymedia.ou.edu using your OUNet ID and password. Once logged in, click on the add new dropdown menu. Select “Live Event”.
Enter in the Name of your event. You can also enter in a description, tags, and select whether you want viewers to seek back during the live event and view the event at a later date. OU Information Technology recommends checking both of these boxes. Once you have entered in the necessary information, click “Create Event”.
You will receive confirmation that the event was successfully created, and be presented with publishing options. You have three options when publishing a livestream-
Private – You will be the only user able to view the stream. This is the default publishing option.
Unlisted – Anyone with a link to the page can view your event. This is the recommended setting.
Published – The livestream will be published to mymedia.ou.edu
Note that livestreams can also be embedded on another website. Once you have selected your publishing option click “Save”.
Select “Edit and Broadcasting Options”
This page enables you to start your livestream. When ready, click the “Start Streaming” button to begin your livestream. Clicking “View Event Page” will pull up the webpage of your specific event, as well as a sharable link if you have published your video set to “unlisted” or “published”.
You Livesteam will take a couple of minutes to start streaming from the point you hit “Start Streaming”. You can hit this button again when you are ready to stop you livestream.
Once complete your video will be saved to your MyMedia profile if you selected the “Enable DVR” option.
