The Dell Data Protection Endpoint Security Suite is a new antivirus tool that is being implemented for use on all university-owned computers. This software can be downloaded from the OU IT Store here or as part of the DDPE Encryption+Endpoint package. Before installation, you will need to make sure that you have fully uninstalled your current antivirus software, such as Sophos.
Removing Sophos with the Sophos Removal Tool
Once downloaded, open the file to run it. You should be presented with the following window. Click Continue.
Enter the administrative credentials for the machine and click OK.
The wizard will run through the removal process. You will get the following message when Sophos has been removed.
Once your current antivirus has been removed, restart your computer, then proceed with the installation instructions below.
Run the downloaded .dmg file.
Running the .dmg file mounts a drive. Run the Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise package to begin the installation wizard.
Click Continue, then click Agree.
Make sure to enter ddpe.ou.edu within the Server Host field and 8888 in the Server Port field, then click Continue.
Click Install. You may be prompted for administrative credentials, so enter those if necessary.
You will be presented with this window once the installation is complete. Click Close.
Once installed, you should be able to confirm that you are protected by the presence of a shield with a green check mark in the top right menu bar.
