Connecting to WIFI@OU

What is WIFI@OU?
  • WIFI@OU is the preferred WIFI network for members of the entire OU community.
  • It will require you to log in with your OUNet ID and password.
  • This network requires devices that support WPA2 Enterprise level encryption and 802.11g specification or newer (802.11a/g/n/ac).

What about OUWIFI?
  • WIFI@OU is a more secure network option compared to OUWIFI.
  • OUWIFI will be retired on October 4th, 2018

How to connect to WIFI@OU from your computer
  • "Forget" OUWIFI and OUGuest. For instructions on forgetting a wireless network, refer to this article: http://askthesooners.ou.edu/customer/portal/articles/2945854-forgetting-a-wireless-network
  • From the desktop, select the WIFI icon. On the drop down menu, select WIFI@OU as the SSID.
  • Enter your OUNet ID and password.
  • Select Continue when the Verify Certificate prompt appears (see below for further detail).
  • Mac OS X will require you to update the Certificate Trust Settings. Enter your computer’s username and password when prompted. NOTE: This is not your OUNet ID and password, and requires you to have admin privileges on your computer.
  • If you have changed your OUNet ID password recently and are now having difficulties logging in to WIFI@OU, one possible solution is to forget all OU WIFI networks.

How to connect to WIFI@OU from your phone
  • Go to Settings and then WIFI.
  • Select WIFI@OU as the network.
  • Enter your OUNet ID and password.
  • Choose Trust when prompted to verify the Certificate.

Verifying the new certificate‚Äč
  • After entering your OUNet ID and password, you will be prompted to accept a new certificate.
  • This is a normal part of the process to log in to WIFI@OU.

  • For more information about AccessOU, including how to connect, click HERE.
  • Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS will not be able to connect to any wireless network at OU, including AccessOU.
